Excellent deal for the money --- good fit and finish (although bracelet from China and weak clasp); has sapphire crystal. Unique looking (case shape) --- I suspect you'll love it or hate it. (I like it.) Big date easy on aging eyes. A bit on the dressy side. Comfortable. Unfortunately, it is more black than blue --- even in the sun. Still handsome (to me, but not my gf --- she doesn't like the big date).I have a similar Seiko kinetic ($330) but may return as this looks better and kinetic really needs to be worn every day or the battery will lose its ability to retain a charge fairly quickly. Kinetics last about 8 years is taken care of --- like a long life battery. Why 3 stars? Well, I called Seiko about another watch and a simple battery change and it is $125! (3 year battery.) I called a good private Seiko watch repairer and he charges $125, too, for the battery change (new $1 battery, check of electricity drain, waterproofing check --- more than necessary and 30 - 45 minutes of work). So, this watch is $180 and the charge to fix it could be $125! No way. I don't dive into water with a "dressy" watch on (only rated 100 meters anyway) and an electricity drain check on a $180 watch is easy and needless. I don't know if the battery can be changed at the mall or if a special tool is needed. Seiko gives a limited three year warranty.Sneaky --- makes me want a Citizen eco-drive a bit. (Too bad most Citizen's in the US have a mineral crystal, not a sapphire crystal.)UPDATE:Have heard the watch can have the battery changed for much less. If so, should be four stars, not three.I've actually been without a watch for some time now and had gotten used to using my phone to check the time. But on a recent trip out of the country, I decided not to take my (company) phone with me. I suddenly realized I had no concept of time without my phone! So it was time for me to get a new watch.I didn't want to break the bank and Amazon didn't disappoint. The value of this watch is undeniable. It is priced very reasonably when you consider what you're getting. I wanted a Sapphire dial window, chronograph features and battery operated quartz movement. Didn't want to mess with a perpetual or a watch that was completely mechanical and had to be kinetically wound. I also wanted it to work well as an everyday watch but also be appropriate for business attire. This watch is perfect! My mom used to work at a jewelry counter and showed me long ago how to remove watch band links. So after a little tweaking, I've got it sized nicely for my average sized wrist. The watch looks spectacular. I love the deep blue face and the aggressively shaped hands. It is simply beautiful and it's keeping perfect time as near as I can tell. I've checked it against the atomic clock synchronized digital in my house and it's still perfect. The bottom line is that this watch is a simply stunning and a great value. Don't hesitate to buy. You won't be disappointed.I bought this as an everyday watch. Like my previous watches, it'll be exposed to everything from diving the Caribbean to hiking the local desert and everything in-between. The styling on this watch is clean and crisp - whether working in the garage or on the golf course, or at dinner with khakis and a jacket. Tho not used to the chronograph, the 'busy-ness' of the face is a little disconcerting, but after a week, it becomes less distracting. Do I need a chrono - no, but I like the 'look'.The size is perfect, easy for me to see yet not Invicta-dinner-plate huge. It has a solid heft matched with a easy to use band. The blue dial actually becomes black in low light so don't let the blue face put you off. It's a deep, sapphire blue that lets it stand out from the crowd but not 'too' much. There's those who like Seiko, those that don't. This is my third that I've worn 24/7, 365 since high school and I'm 50 yrs old. One died, one I passed to my son, and one sits in my jewelry box. With a record like that and the styling of this watch, investing the extra $500 in the Movado chrono I considered just didn't make sense.Great appearance and good feel on my wrist. I love the large double digit date display. It is very easy to set date after months that do not have 31 days, especially at a third of the price of a Perpetual. I do have more trouble than I expected seeing the minute and hour hands when the light is low. I like the chronometer and its function more than I would have liked the month shown as on the Perpetual versoin. When using the chronometer the large sweep hand moves very like a jeweled movement, rather than jumping at each second in the usual manner of quartz movements. It moves every fifth of a second, so it is smooth to watch. I have had a Seiko running on my wrist most of the time for 32 years. I expect this one to do as well and do not expect to need a new battery nearly as often, if ever. Very prompt delivery.I bought this very handsome (if I say so myself!) watch as a gift for my husband and was really patting myself on the back for this one....until he tried it on and the band needed to be resized - awhhhhh! There is nothing wrong with the watch, but I just had to find a Seiko "dealer" in order to resize the band (since he couldn't go there in person, we just had to guess the size he would need and crossed our fingers as I took it to the nearest "dealer", which was about 20 miles away). Everything turned out fine, but just more work than I anticipated. So anyone buying this, remember that you may need to resize the band and that will be a little extra "work" in the end.bought this watch as a birthday present to myself, replacing a similar 10 yr old seiko. watch is even better looking in person when compared to seeing it online. feels nice and solid on the wrist. i don't know about the reviewer who said the watch was too much for him..didn't he look at the watch before buying it??? if he wanted a simple watch he should have bought one! i've had my old seiko for > 10 years, it still works, and i think they make a good product. if you're looking for a watch that you can wear when meeting a client and that you can also wear with jeans on the weekend, you might want to consider this model. very happy with my purchase.
